DESCRIPTION:The Oregon State University Engineers Without Borders group (
 EWB-OSU) is hosting a banquet at the Corvallis Country Club on February 
 17\, 2012 at 6:00 pm. The purpose of the banquet is to raise money for t
 he Lela Community Water Project in Kenya. EWB-OSU has developed a partne
 rship with Lela and is planning the first implementation of the project.
  This summer students will travel to Kenya to oversee completion of a co
 mmunity well and expansion of a rainwater collection system at the Lela 
 Primary School. \n\nThis year\, our banquet has been sponsored by CH2M H
 ill and will feature a catered dinner\, performances by local entertaine
 rs\, and a presentation on our project in Kenya. EWB-OSU’s annual banq
 uet is the biggest fundraiser of the year\, and this year the goal is $8
 \,000 with the event. The cost is $50 for the general public or $35 for 
 students and children. Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.ewb-osu.
 org/banquet or reserved by emailing fundraising@ewb-osu.org for purchase
  at the door (RSVP is requested). \n\nIf attending the banquet is not an
  option\, consider making a donation online at www.ewb-osu.org/donate or
  by mail (EWB-OSU\, 103 Memorial Union #262\, Oregon State University\, 
 Corvallis\, OR 97331). Checks should be payable to EWB-OSU\, which is a 
 501(c)(3) charitable organization\, so all donations are tax deductible.
  \n\nMore information about the Lela Community Water Project can be foun
 d at www.ewb-osu.org/kenya_project. The cost of materials for the upcomi
 ng implementation is estimated at $16\,000. This amount includes hiring 
 a professional well driller and tanks and construction materials for the
  rainwater system. Airfare for the trip has been provided by Emirate Air
 lines. Student travelers are determined through a formal selection proce
 ss\, and a professional engineering mentor will travel with the team.\n\
